You can help feed struggling families this Winter

Your tax-deductible gift by 30 June will provide food relief for families just like Annie's who are in desperate need right now.

Annie is a devoted mum of three doing everything she can to hold her family together. But she is now facing something no parent should ever have to navigate alone. Annie’s son Jordan has been diagnosed with a serious, life-threatening liver condition. Doctors have told her he may not live to see 30.

To give him the best chance, Jordan needs a strict diet built around frequent meals of fresh fruit and vegetables. For him, this isn’t general nutrition, it’s essential for his health. But Annie is a full-time carer, living on a limited income, already stretched by rent, bills, petrol, and medical appointments. Annie is being forced into impossible choices no parent should face.

I would do anything for my children,” Annie says. “But I can’t afford the fresh food Jordan needs. It’s like everything he depends on is just out of reach.”

For many households, fresh fruit and vegetables are among the first foods that are sacrificed when budgets become stretched.

Like many parents, Annie often went without food herself to make sure her children had enough to eat.

Across South Australia and the Northern Territory, 44% of households are currently experiencing food insecurity throughout the year, and demand for food relief continues to rise. Single-parent households are among the hardest hit, with 68% reporting they went hungry in the past year. Households where someone lives will illness or disability are also deeply affected, with two-thirds experiencing food insecurity in the past twelve months alone.

Friend, you can change that with your generosity. We urgently need your help before June 30.

With your help, families facing illness, hardship or rising costs can continue to access the fresh food they need to care for the people they love.

Please give your gift today. Your support will bring relief, dignity and hope to families like Annie’s when they need it most.
